Terry Whitehead – Proven Results for Ward 8 – Now I am Ready to finish the job.

As your former Ward 8 City Councillor, I fought the hard fights and delivered real results for our community. Now, I’m back to finish the job — to restore respect for our hard-working Ward 8 taxpayers. Below are just a few of our past accomplishments — proof that when we work together, we can get things done for Ward 8.

Community Projects & Events

  • Launched free neighbourhood events — movie nights, festivals, Easter egg hunts, seniors strawberry socials.
  • Delivered the Gourley Park clubhouse, new walkways, and water service to the concession stand.
  • Partnered with the Gourley Park Community Association to support local events.
  • Brought Ward 8 together through more than 100 community meetings — in-person and virtual.

  • Led creation of William Connell Park, one of the city’s largest, with a planned winter destination facility.
  • Installed a safe crosswalk linking schools and the rec centre in the Rolston Neighbourhood.

Public Safety & Housing

  • Saved Century Manor and created Mohawk College student housing to ease neighbourhood pressures.
  • Served on the Hamilton Police Service Board – working directly with law enforcement.

Fiscal Responsibility & Governance

  • Introduced an overpass banner bylaw to improve safety and enforcement.

Economic Development
